The April Initiative is a non-profit think tank that promotes cross-disciplinary dialogue among professionals shaping the future of the built environment.

The built environment significantly influences our daily lives. Factors such as home affordability, the presence of nature in our neighbourhoods, and daily commuting times all shape our well-being.

Luxembourg’s built environment faces a crisis in its structure and core, marked by issues such as long commuting hours, problematic home affordability, and a high environmental footprint of construction.

The April Initiative advocates that solving this crisis necessitates collaboration among multiple disciplines: architects, urbanists, politicians, real estate developers, lawyers, bankers and more. Yet, the much-needed multi-disciplinary approach is often missing. Everyone is in the same room, but few are actually talking to each other.

The mission of the April Initiative is to catalyse this cross-disciplinary dialogue, thereby contributing to enabling innovation within the built environment.
