François de la Caffinière

ENTREPRENEUR

François de la Caffinière is a real estate entrepreneur with a keen interest in innovative models of living environments. His professional journey began in communications before he transitioned to property intermediation and real estate development. Over the years, François has developed a comprehensive expertise in the residential market.

In 2012, François founded Valéan, a Luxembourg-based firm specialising in property management and development. His portfolio comprises a range of projects, including the construction and renovation of residential complexes, the design and management of furnished flats, and the development of coliving spaces.

In addition to his work with Valéan, François has also established Ground-1, a platform facilitating the realisation of visionary architectural concepts.

Ilia Voulgari

ARCHITECT

Ilia Voulgari is an Architect with an interest in public architecture, adaptive re-use, and innovative approaches to architecture. She obtained her master’s in architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, and has also studied at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland and the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture in Versailles.

She has accumulated a diverse background previously working among others, at Civic Architects in Amsterdam and Paul Bretz Architects in Luxembourg, engaging in public projects, adaptive re-use, and museum design. Currently practicing at Metaform Architects in Luxembourg, she works on international competitions and a prominent project in the city of Luxembourg.

With a commitment and curiosity for the profession, Ilia is involved in various initiatives and workshops in Europe that challenge and push the boundaries of the architectural practice.

Jean-François Muller

INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

Jean-François Muller is an independent director with a solid background in management and real estate development. He graduated from ESCP Europe Business School in 2001 and began his career in quality management at BMW before moving to Banque de Luxembourg, a private bank based in Luxembourg. There, he held the position of Head of Security and managed the bank's real estate portfolio while also obtaining certification as a corporate banker.

Since 2014, Jean-François has been focused on property development and intermediation, bringing his extensive experience in negotiation, land acquisition, and real estate project financing to his work as a director in multiple real estate development companies. He has demonstrated success in managing real estate portfolios and has contributed to the development of inventive projects, including the acclaimed "Factory Lisbon", a vibrant creative community hub, anchor of Hub Criativo Beato, the innovation district of Lisbon.

Julie Marthe Hoffmann

ARCHITECT

Julie Marthe Hoffmann is an architect and educator. She earned her master's degree in architecture with honours from the University of Innsbruck. Between 2012 and 2014, she served as a student assistant at the Institute of Spatial Design, University of Innsbruck. She subsequently joined studio 2001 architecture in Luxembourg as a junior architect, eventually founding her own practice. Julie's work emphasises the role of the individual and the human aspect in architecture, both in design and through interpersonal connections.

Julie is the founder of WAA (Wat ass Architektur?) and co-founder of WIA (What is Architecture?), both cultural mediation platforms focusing on architectural design and the built environment. Julie is dedicated to making architecture accessible to the general public, especially children.
